3. Hyper-3DG: Text-to-3D Gaussian Generation via Hypergraph

Abstract

Text-to-3D generation represents an exciting field that has seen rapid advancements, facilitating the transformation of textual descriptions into detailed 3D models. However, current progress often neglects the intricate high-order correlation of geometry and texture within 3D objects, leading to challenges such as over-smoothness, over-saturation and the Janus problem. In this work, we propose a method named ``3D Gaussian Generation via Hypergraph (Hyper-3DG)'', designed to capture the sophisticated high-order correlations present within 3D objects. Our framework is anchored by a well-established mainflow and an essential module, named ``Geometry and Texture Hypergraph Refiner (HGRefiner)''. This module not only refines the representation of 3D Gaussians but also accelerates the update process of these 3D Gaussians by conducting the Patch-3DGS Hypergraph Learning on both explicit attributes and latent visual features. Our framework allows for the production of finely generated 3D objects within a cohesive optimization, effectively circumventing degradation. Extensive experimentation has shown that our proposed method significantly enhances the quality of 3D generation while incurring no additional computational overhead for the underlying framework. 13. Boundary-Aware Proposal Generation Method for Temporal Action Localization

Abstract

The goal of Temporal Action Localization (TAL) is to find the categories and temporal boundaries of actions in an untrimmed video. Most TAL methods rely heavily on action recognition models that are sensitive to action labels rather than temporal boundaries. More importantly, few works consider the background frames that are similar to action frames in pixels but dissimilar in semantics, which also leads to inaccurate temporal boundaries. To address the challenge above, we propose a Boundary-Aware Proposal Generation (BAPG) method with contrastive learning. Specifically, we define the above background frames as hard negative samples. Contrastive learning with hard negative mining is introduced to improve the discrimination of BAPG. BAPG is independent of the existing TAL network architecture, so it can be applied plug-and-play to mainstream TAL models. Extensive experimental results on THUMOS14 and ActivityNet-1.3 demonstrate that BAPG can significantly improve the performance of TAL.

15. Coordinated Defense Allocation in Reach-Avoid Scenarios with Efficient Online Optimization

Abstract

In this paper, we present a dual-layer online optimization strategy for defender robots operating in multiplayer reach-avoid games within general convex environments. Our goal is to intercept as many attacker robots as possible without prior knowledge of their strategies. To balance optimality and efficiency, our approach alternates between coordinating defender coalitions against individual attackers and allocating coalitions to attackers based on predicted single-attack coordination outcomes. We develop an online convex programming technique for single-attack defense coordination, which not only allows adaptability to joint states but also identifies the maximal region of initial joint states that guarantees successful attack interception. Our defense allocation algorithm utilizes a hierarchical iterative method to approximate integer linear programs with a monotonicity constraint, reducing computational burden while ensuring enhanced defense performance over time. Extensive simulations conducted in 2D and 3D environments validate the efficacy of our approach in comparison to state-of-the-art approaches, and show its applicability in wheeled mobile robots and quadcopters.

30. Nutlin-3a regulates mouse adipose function by inhibition of CIDEC expression

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of Nutlin-3a, a mouse double minute 2 homolog (MDM2) inhibitor, on lipid metabolism of mouse adipose. Methods High-fat diet-induced obesity (DIO) C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into a control group injected with DMSO and an experimental group injected with Nutlin-3a. Then we conducted glucose tolerance (GTT) and insulin tolerance (ITT) tests. The epididymal white adipose tissue (eWAT), inguinal white adipose tissue (iWAT) and brown adipose tissue (BAT) of animals were isolated and microscopy of WATs with hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining was performed to observe the morphological changes of adipocytes. The expression of lipid metabolism related gene cell death-inducing DFF45-like effector C (CIDEC) in eWAT were detected by qPCR and Western blot. Results Compared with the control group, Nutlin-3a was found to promote the body weight (P＜0.001),but no effect on glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity in DIO mice. Nutlin-3a treatment decreased the size of adipocytes and fat deposition in adipose tissue and downregulated the mRNA and protein levels of CIDEC in eWAT. Conclusions Nutlin-3a inhibits the formation of lipid droplets by downregulating expression of CIDEC in white adipose tissue.
